Carriage Mounting of a circular saw, router or other power tool amounts to attaching the tool directly to the Trolley Carriage rather than to a mounting plate. The power tool is securely fastened to the carriage by drilling through the carriage directly into the tool's base plate and securing it with countersunk machine screws, washers and wing nuts. The advantages of Carriage Mounting is less loss of depth of cut (only 1/4"), fewer pieces to purchase and works very well with the patented Duplex Rail and Linear Guide Bearing. This is the least cost system and is preferred if leaving the trolley attached to a tool for repeated uses. Changing the tool attached to the trolley is simply a matter of unscrewing the three or four wing nuts/screws that attach the tool to the carriage.
There are four types of trolley carriages : The Universal Tool Trolley Carriage, the Circular Saw Trolley Carriage with a rectangular blade/blade guard opening, Zero-Clearance-Fit Carriage and a Router Trolley Carriage with a center opening for the router bit.
The Trolley Carriages provide full support of the tool and are predrilled with countersink holes on two edges for attachment of the linear bearings and Mounting Plates. The four linear bearings can be attached on one edge if using a single rail or the bearings can be attached with one on each corner if using a dual track configuration

To use the Zero-Clearance-Fit Carriage with a circular saw, attach the bearings and the saw according to the instruction sheet. Make your first cut on a piece of scrap wood by starting the saw and slowly lowering the blade through the HDPE carriage creating a zero-clearance fit for splinterless cutting.
The Circular Saw Trolley Carriage has a rectangular opening for the blade guard and blade. If a zero-clearance-fit is desired, purchase a circular saw mounting plate on which the circular saw is attached and which holds a zero-clearance-insert in place.

The Router Trolley Carriage is predrilled with countersunk holes for the attachment of the linear bearings and Router Mounting Plate and has an oval shaped hole in the center for the router cutter.
The Router Trolley Carriage will accept a PVC Router Mounting Plate or the 1/4" aluminum Converter Router Mounting Plate that also serves as a router table insert when not attached to the trolley carriage.
The Universal Trolley Carriage can be used for direct mounting of a circular saw, router or other power tool. Its principle use is for attachment of the Universal Mounting Plate with a replaceable Zero-Clearance Insert. The Zero-Clearance Insert fits into the "T" shape opening.

Attach your circular saw, router or other power tool to a Universal Mounting Plate for easy change-out of your tools for mounting on the trolley. The Universal Mounting Plate has a series of predrilled countersunk holes for attachment of cam-lock disks that simplify attachment of the power tool to the mounting plate; thus, eliminating the need to drill holes in the base plates of the power tool and in the trolley carriage
The Universal Tool Trolley fits all circular saws, routers and other power tools and it includes a HDPE Zero-Clearance-Insert (ZCI) for splinterless cutting. The ZCI can be easily replaced when needed.

All Carriage Mount Trolleys come with 4 self-lubricated Linear Bearings. Rails and accessories are purchased separately.
